About the Role

Meyer Service & Supply Ltd. is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our service team based out of our Hamilton, Ontario office. This is a hybrid role that combines in‑house instrument service with customer technical support and regional field service.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for cleaning, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating customer instruments to ensure they meet specified performance requirements. In addition to hands‑on service work, this role provides technical and application support to customers and internal teams, contributing directly to service quality and customer satisfaction.

This position is well suited to a technically competent individual who enjoys problem‑solving, working independently, and representing the company professionally at customer sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clean, test, repair, adjust, and calibrate customer instruments to specified tolerances
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot instrument issues both in‑house and during on‑site service visits
  • Perform regional field service and customer site visits using a company vehicle
  • Provide technical and application support to customers and internal teams via phone, email, live chat, and in person
  • Complete service reports, test documentation, and calibration certificates accurately and on time
  • Support service and sales teams by resolving service‑related issues efficiently and professionally
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship, documentation accuracy, and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Electronic, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering Technology, or a related technical program
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in technical service, field service, or instrumentation environments
  • Proficiency with service tools such as DMMs, soldering equipment, and basic hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and service documentation
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a field service setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with customers and internal teams
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally (up to ~75%)

French language skills are considered a strong asset.

This position is based in person out of our Hamilton, Ontario office.
