About the Role
Meyer Service & Supply Ltd. is seeking a motivated Bench Service Technician (Entry‑Level) to join our service team at our Long Sault facility. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career technician looking to develop hands‑on experience working with electronic, mechanical, and instrumentation‑based equipment in a structured, professional environment.
This role focuses primarily on in‑house bench service, supporting the cleaning, testing, repair, and calibration of customer instruments. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced technicians and receive comprehensive training on a range of industry‑leading instruments.
This is a technical role intended for candidates with formal technical education and an interest in precision service work. It is not a production or general labour position.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, test, repair, and calibrate customer instruments according to established procedures
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and diagnostics using service documentation and schematics
- Accurately complete service reports, test forms, and calibration certificates
- Prepare instruments for return shipment to customers
- Support senior technicians with bench‑based service activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Qualifications
- College Diploma or University Degree in Electronic, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering Technology, or a related technical program
- 0–2 years of hands‑on technical experience (co‑op, internship, or practical training considered an asset)
- Basic proficiency with tools such as DMMs, soldering irons, and hand tools
- Ability to read and follow schematics, technical drawings, and written procedures
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
French language skills are considered an asset but are not required.
